A sequel to 2005’s “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” film and based on Ann Brashare’s book series of the same name, this film reunites best friends Tibby, Lena, Bridget and Carmen as they once again embark on summer break from one another sharing a magical pair of pants between themselves that magically fits each of them despite their various sizes. All grown up their friendships are further tested by the various paths their lives take which seemingly would be various and divergent directions.
Mini-Spoilers and Thoughts:
Gal power is back and prevails are the foursome are back for another wholesome adventure in each of their lives. Carmen, no longer plagued by her family issues (or at least not as much) is enjoying the life of college theater. Soccer star Bridget is engaged in a summer archaeology (????) adventure. Budding filmmaker Tibby is in the mad throes of love and its associated dramas. Artistic Lena continues to pursue her artistic endeavors in college but continues to run amok of the pains of love.
Personally, I love this stuff! Chick flick? Of course. Entertaining? Sure? Warm-fuzzy and heart-warming? Definitely. If you enjoyed the first film this film basically picks up where things left off. It’s about life and the friendships that bind us together. If you can’t appreciate a film like that then I don’t know what you would be down for.
